About East Boston Museum and Historical Society

The East Boston Museum and Historical Society began over 20 years ago, when a small group of community members passionate about East Boston history began meeting at Maverick Landing. Advertised in the local newspaper, these informal gatherings offered a space for community members to reminisce about the past and learn about the history of their community. In 2014, the group formally organized to become the East Boston Museum and Historical Society, allowing us to fundraise, hold public events, and open an office and event space on 80 Border Street.
